Building Expansion Joint Sealing in Hanamkonda & Warangal
Seal structural building gaps and seismic expansion joints. We install heavy-duty elastic PU sealants, backup rods, and metal flashing systems.
The Challenge: Water Leaks Through Structural Expansion Joints
Large residential apartments, commercial offices, and industrial buildings are designed with structural expansion joints. These joints allow separate sections of the building to move safely during thermal expansion, settling, and seismic activity. However, these joints are also large gaps that span the height of the building. If they are not sealed correctly, rainwater enters, causing leaks across multiple floors.
Normal mortar, cements, or cheap sealants crack and fail immediately when the building sections move. To seal these gaps permanently, you need an elastic, highly flexible polyurethane (PU) sealant and joint-backing system.
Our Expansion Joint Sealing Process
We use high-performance PU sealants and flashings to seal structural building joints:
Cleaning & Backer Rod Installation
We clean the joint gap completely. We then insert a closed-cell polyethylene foam backup rod into the joint at a specific depth. This backup rod controls the depth of the sealant and prevents three-sided adhesion.
Polyurethane (PU) Sealant Application
We prime the joint sides and inject a premium elastomeric polyurethane (PU) sealant. PU sealants are highly flexible, weathering-resistant, and can accommodate structural movements of up to 50% without tearing.
Waterproof Cover Tape & Metal Flashing
For roof and exterior joints, we apply a flexible EPDM rubber membrane tape over the sealed joint. We then install aluminum or GI metal flashings to redirect rainwater away from the joint.
